Minolta 1350W monochrome laser printer review
The Minolta PagePro 1350W is a direct replacement for the PagePro 1200W (also reviewed on this web site). You get the same 1200 by 1200 dpi monochrome printing and reasonable running costs with increased print speed and a few other new options. Oh yeah, it also has a reduced price to a very appealing $180.

Minolta PagePro 1350W
Lowest price in class but graphics quality does lag
We game the old model Minolta 1200W a good review and again we come to the conclusion that this printer is a good buy.
Cheap laser printer goodness
Text printing is excellent but as I mentioned before graphics were not so flash. Even at the print speed halving 1200 by 1200 dpi setting graphics came out a little bit banded.
New to this model is a quiet operation mode that does reduce the noise made by the printer a lot. The PagePro 1350W is one of the noisiest printers in it's class so this is a useful printer that addresses one weakness of the design.
We liked the fact that the printer supports both USB and parallel connections which will really endear it to home office people.
Unfortunately like the 8mb memory cannot be expanded and limits big print job speed. Furthermore the low input and output paper capacity will also frustrate you if you print large documents. With only 100 sheets possible in the input tray and 100 in the output tray this will be a serious limitation to some users but no bother at all to others. To be fair as an optional extra a 500-sheet cassette can be added (letter or A4).
On a positive note the printer ships with a 1500 page toner cartridge and 3,000 page replacements are quite economical. To further endear the printer to home users this printer has a very effective "economy mode" that prints grey text instead of black.
Here are the specifications:
- black: up to 21 ppm
- 8mb memory (not expandable)
- Total Input Media Capacity 100 sheets
- 1200 dpi x 1200 dpi for monochrome documents
- Maximum Duty Cycle: 15,000 prints/month
Minolta PagePro 1350W, the perfect low to moderate volume laser printer get's better!
If running costs are an important consideration for you then this printer is right up your alley. You'll also be attracted by the fact it's one of the cheapest monochrome lasers around.
If you don't do a lot of graphics printing and you can handle it's loud operating volume (or long print times in quiet model) then this printer is the answer for you.
