HP LaserJet 1300 Laser Printer

The HP Laserjet 1300 is the replacement model for the incredibly successful Laserjet 1200 and the pedigree is obvious as the HP Laserjet 1300 looks almost identical to it's predecessor. Not all of the of the good breeding has been passed through, however, as the HP Laserjet 1300 prints grey scale images poorly - the HP 1300 Laserjet was clearly not designed to print graphics.

The HP Laserjet 1300? Poor Print Quality?

What the HP Laserjet 1300 has to compete with the most in our office is our beloved HP Laserjet 1200, we at loved this printer. Despite the battering it has taken over the years, staples, coffee and even surviving being pulled off the desk when I got my foot caught in the power cable it has performed tirelessly.

I think the problem with the Laserjet 1300 is that HP have sacrificed quality for speed and when you compare sheet for sheet alongside the Laserjet 1300's competitors this difference is marked, particularly so when printing graphics.

Our Conclusion on the HP Laserjet 1200

In our opinion the HP Laserjet 1300 is only superior to it's predecessor in terms of its network support ability and being able to upgrade. So if you never envisage demanding long print runs or wanting to be able to network your printer we would still recommend the HP Laserjet 1200 as you can now buy one very, very cheaply.
