Canon Laser Shot LBP-1210 Laser Printer review
The Canon Laser Shot LBP-1210 is for moderate volume and looks and behaves a lot like the HP Laserjet 1300. In the end I would have to rate the HP Laserjet 1300 higher so go and read that review instead.

Canon Laser Shot LBP-1210 laser printer
Moderate volume, no Mac support
For moderate volumes this printer has reasonable running costs. The inexpensive initial purchase price will appeal but in terms of a complete package it would be hard to recommend this printer over the HP Laserjet 1300.
Canon Laser Shot LBP-1210 another beige box
The print quality from the 600 by 600 dpi print engine is perfectly acceptable for plain text image quality is not the best in it's class. Graphical printing is better that it's smaller brother the Canon Laser Shot LBP-1120 but that's nothing to write home about.
Paper capacity is good with 250 sheets of input paper that can be refilled during printing. Output paper capacity is an average 125 sheets.
The printer can be easily opened and the internals accessed to change toner or remove paper jams.
Here are the specifications:
- black: up to 14 ppm
- 2mb memory (not expandable)
- Total Input Media Capacity 250 sheets
- 600 dpi x 600 dpi for monochrome documents
- Maximum Duty Cycle: 10,000 prints/month
Canon Laser Shot LBP-1210, doesn't make your pulse race
Print speed is alright but the memory capacity isn't upgradeable. If you have moderate print volumes now and no intention of increasing then this may be for you. The reasonable initial cost is low and the running costs are also good.
However the lack of ethernet and Mac support does limit this printers appeal.
If you just need a simple solution and can find this printer for the right price then there's no reason to buy but when you compare it with the slightly more expensive HP Laserjet 1300 you'll see it comes a close second.
