Canon Laser Shot LBP-1120 laser printer review
The Canon Laser Shot LBP-1120 is small and cheap. It is not a particularly fast laser printer but print quality is acceptable and with a low initial cost and moderate running costs this makes an ideal laser printer for home or small office use.

Canon Laser Shot LBP-1120 laser printer
Nice little low volume, low cost laser printer
The Canon Laser Shot LBP-1120 is an impressive little printer. Combining good looks and compact design the sleek rounded chassis would make a good addition to any home office.
Canon Laser Shot LBP-1120, good things, small packages?
The print quality from the 600 by 600 dpi print engine is perfectly acceptable for plain text but graphic/image quality is not the best in it's class. What is good about the printer is the extremely low amount of noise coming from it as it does it's work. A lot of manufacturers have a lot to learn about building printers that don't make your cringe when you start them up.
Paper capacity is small as you'd expect from a printer this size. Only 125 input sheets and a tiny 50 output sheets.
At this price there's obviously no ethernet port and the printer is USB only. Another important consideration for some is that this printer is also PC only as there is no native Mac support.
Here are the specifications:
- black: up to 10 ppm
- 512 kb memory (not expandable)
- Total Input Media Capacity 125 sheets
- 600 dpi x 600 dpi for monochrome documents
- Maximum Duty Cycle: 5,000 prints/month
Canon Laser Shot LBP-1120, low volume use only
With only 512 kb this is one slow printer. The tiny paper capacity also make this laser printer a poor choice for moderate volume use.
The all in one cartridge design makes this printer very easy to use and I think that the home office is the bast place for it.
If all you need is cheap and cheerful laser printing and don't want a massive desk space hog then the Canon Laser Shot LBP-1120 is for you. If you have moderate print volumes or can for see an increase in your print volumes look elsewhere.
